Diabetes 2 Paula Deen

My sister called tonight and said there was a report on TV that Paula Deen has type 2 Diabetes.

Guess, just maybe, she is going to have to give up some of that Butter and lose a few pounds.  I finally watched a video of her interview with Al Roker and was struck by one thing she said, “Diabetes isn’t a death sentence.”

Unfortunately for some it is a death sentence because Diabetes is often diagnosed in the Emergecy Room where the heart attach or stroke victim has been admitted.   Many people do not have regular health care and unless they know some of the symptoms of Diabetes, they are the walking dead.

Is there a Cure for Type 2 Diabetes that doesn’t Include Drugs?

There is a Report that British Physicians released in July, 2011 stating that they had found and verified a CURE FOR TYPE 2 DIABETES.  The study was run for 8 weeks with equal numbers of people enrolled:  half had diabetes, half were just normal individuals with no trace of diabetes.  Just a hint…at the end of week 1 all of the Diabetics were recorded with normal fasting blood sugar readings.

If you would like to read the report or download a pdf copy to take to your physican there is a link to it here, just click on it and GO

What I found interesting about the report was the summary at the end.  Three of the diabetics in the study gained several pounds after the study was over (they evidently did followups), but their insulin production and cell sensitivity to remained in the normal range.

I don’t know if Paula Deen is taking medication or is just relying on diet and exercise to control her diabetes.  I do remember the physician who was on the program with her stating  later that she was not impressed with celebrities who contracted with Drug Companies  peddling medications when in her opinion (and mine) that scheduled Diabetic meals and exercise should be the first line of defense in controlling Diabetes.

The best Control for Diabetes:  Diet and Exercise

Those two words no one likes to hear Diet and Exercise are the best and healthiest way to fight and win the battle against type 2 Diabetes or as it was formerly know Adult Onset Diabetes.  I guess they had to change the names from Adult Onset Diabetes and Juvenile Diabetes to Type 2 Diabetes and Type 1 Diabetes (normally diagnosed in young children) to what they are today because of so many children even as young as 8 years old are developing Type 2 Diabetes.

If you haven’t noticed there is an epidemic of FAT in America.  Being overweight and not exercising is paramount to sending a Golden Engraved invitation for Diabetes to come into your life.

The remedy is so simple:

Get a good diet that you can live with and just walk for 30 minutes a day.  No need for expensive gyms and heavy duty workouts.  What you are interested in doing is moving enough to get your body to burn off a few extra calories every day.  Plus you just might turn some of that  FAT into muscle which burns calories and doesn’t store them like fat does.  Another benefit from exercise: it helps regulate cholesterol.

I happened to find the Study detailing the Diabetes Cure when I was reading about a program called How to Reverse Type 2 Diabetes. Want to Read it?  Click on Me!
